What this site already does
The schedule below the player is not a picture of a schedule. It knows what time it is where your station is, works out what is on the air right now, and says so — to a listener in your market and to one three time zones away, both correctly. When you move a show, the “on air now” line, every show page and the schedule grid all move with it, because they are all reading the same grid.
The player carries whatever your stream already reports. Song, artist, artwork where your provider sends it, and the track on a phone’s lock screen or a car head unit the way a real radio station appears there.
Nothing on this page waited for a designer, and nothing on it is a plugin. The whole site is plain files on a fast network: there is no database to be breached, no admin login to be brute-forced, and no version of anything to keep patched on a Tuesday.
What you change, and how
Go to /admin/ on this site and sign in. You get an editor for the things that actually change: your shows, your hosts, the schedule, events, contests, and the words on this page.
It saves to the same place the site is built from, so the site rebuilds itself a minute or so after you press save. There is nothing to upload and no way to break the layout by editing text — and if you type a show name into the schedule that does not match a real show, the site tells you instead of quietly publishing a link to nowhere.
That is the part worth knowing before your first Saturday remote: swapping a DJ is ninety seconds on a phone, not an email to somebody who might be awake.
What is switched off right now
Live video, live chat, contests and the FCC compliance pages are all built and all off until you want them. A licensed station gets the public file and EEO pages automatically, because that is a consequence of holding a licence rather than a feature to remember.
Making this page yours
Replace everything above with your own story — when you signed on, what you play, who is in the building, why somebody in your market should listen to you instead of a playlist. Keep it short and true; that is the whole trick.
The parts below this page’s prose look after themselves. Your host and show counts, your request line, your business line and your studio inbox are all read from the station’s own settings, so they stay right when you change them somewhere else — which is exactly the sort of thing an About page is usually wrong about.
